Mexico Beach, Florida - World's Tourist Destination in the World

Mexico Beach, Florida is one of the beautiful places in Florida. The sand: Around these three miles of confectioners'-sugar sands, you'll see bald eagles, sea turtles, dolphins and only a few footprints. Located on the Florida panhandle.

Marine life: Never heard of Mexico Beach? Exactly. South of Destin, on the Florida Panhandle, the 1,200 residents have avoided high-rises, strip malls, and theme parks like the plague, keeping their low-slung town to themselves.

The sanctuary: The Driftwood Inn has four-poster beds in its rooms and DIY barbecue grills on its back deck. If you want to play at being a local, opt for one of the separate, two-bedroom Victorian houses. Mexico Beach, is a small village situated directly on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida’s “Forgotten Coast”, and is known for its long, white, sandy beaches. Mexico Beach lies just east of Tyndall Air Force Base. Often in the late afternoon or evening, many of the aircraft returning to base from the day's training activities can be seen and heard along the beach. The small city runs along Highway 98, which closely follows the coastline. Fronting the highway and the beach are many beautiful beachfront properties. The local city beach park is adjacent to Toucans Restaurant and the pier is on the west side of town. This area is well known for low key activities and peace and quiet.
