Jal Mahal is the world famous tourist spot in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is known for its wonderful art work. The Jal Mahal is the architectural wonder of Jaipur, which was build in the18th century. If we look back in the history, the Jal Mahal was built by Sawai Pratap Singh. This red stone monument is also called as “Water Palace”, since much of the palace is bounded with water and is subsided under the mud and silt of the Man Sagar Lake is used to look over and was built by constructing a dam among two hills. This place was built for the Royal family as a palace of leisure and especially for royal duck shooting parties.

Established in the middle of the lake, the Jal Mahal is the one of picturesque attractions of Jaipur, known for its complicated artistry and structural design. The place consists of five stories. However, we can see only the top floor and the remaining four floors of the building are enduringly under water. The best time to visit the palace is during the winter months as the lake is filled with abundance of colorful wandering birds, which must be seen.
